Wonder trade miracles:
When I’m bored right usually right before bed I have been wonder trading tons of Pokemon. These Pokemon go in three folders, Check, Keep, or Trade. A couple nights ago I got an awesome surprise; a shiny Azumarill! She is so cool looking and I’m super excited about it.
I’ll update with a new total in the next post! Thanks for reading.
Thanks to my first follower G. I didn’t want to promote this blog much until I had quite a few entries. If you could comment on how you came across this blog I’d appreciate it.
One Box Down
Finally after days of catching Pokemon I have one box completely filled. It happens to be the first box with Pokemon 1-30 in it. The last couple Pokemon I needed to finish the box were Ekans and Arbok, with Ekans being a horde only Pokemon from X&Y he was a pain.
The most important Pokemon to catching them all is my Gallade. He is level 90 now and holding a lucky egg until he hits 100. Several things about make him a Pokemon catching machine.
- False Swipe: won’t let the other Pokemon’s health drop below 1 hp
- Mean Look: target becomes unable to flee
- Hypnosis: Puts the Pokemon to sleep (easier to catch)
- Protect: User evades all attacks
As you can see this all makes a great Pokemon for catching Pokemon. With most low-level Pokemon it’s super simple: just use false swipe, take them down to one health, throw Pokeball, profit. When I am catching higher level Pokemon or legendaries the other moves come into play. Also, when you are trying to catch Pokemon that flee (Looking at you Abra) Mean Look is a must. He does have weak points, especially against ghost Pokemon. They can’t be hit with false swipe, and as his only damage dealing move, it makes him pretty useless.
Creating the monster
I’d say overall, today was a good day in the Pokemon catching world. I caught several Pokemon that went right in my dex and several more that just need to be evolved once or twice. The only problem areas were Mankey and Abra. Mankey is a hidden Pokemon meaning I have to walk around the zone he’s in until a bush shakes then walk over to said bush and see if it’s Mankey. Sounds easy right? Accept his area is surrounded by ledges that when you fall off them you have to get on your bike and hope back up. Pile that on top of blowing through 15 or so super repels and him just not ever showing the fuck up made it a long process. Finally, after about 20 mins and 40 mother fuckers, I caught one. Shortly after, with the help of the Dexnav a second one was mine as well for the evolved form.
I started playing Pokemon again several years ago with the release of Pokemon X&Y. When Omega and Alpha came out I played even more and decided I wanted to catch them all and have a completed living Pokedex. For those of you who don’t know there is a difference between a completed Pokedex and a completed living Pokedex. If I catch ONE Squirtle then evolve him into a Warturtle then once again evolve him into a Blastoise I have completed the Pokedex for that Pokemon. To have a complete living dex I need to have ONE Squirtle, ONE Warturtle, and ONE Blastoise alive at the same time. Right now there are 721 Pokemon. Most of these, barring a few, are available within the 4 current gen games. So this is where my quest starts. Right now I’m at around 406 Pokemon I’m going to try and post once a day about the Pokemon I catch and any trouble I may have along the way.
